Bangalore, October 16, 2025: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has successfully concluded its 34th iCARE (i, Community Action to Reach Everyone) initiative, marking another milestone in its long-standing commitment to community empowerment and sustainability. The latest edition celebrated National Women’s Small Business Month 2025, with a special focus on strengthening rural women entrepreneurs through Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
The event, held at NSS Bhavan, Bangalore University, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 250 iCARE volunteers, including TKM employees and their families. Together, they crafted 1,000 eco-friendly natural soaps, directly supporting SHGs to enhance their inventory and expand production.
In addition, TKM donated sustainable moulds, eco-friendly packaging materials, and essential soap-making equipment to empower these SHGs to continue their businesses independently. This initiative supports groups such as Sreelakshmi Swasahaya Sanga and Basaveshwara Swami Mahila Swasahaya Sanga from the Ramanagara district of Karnataka, helping them scale up their micro-enterprises and boost local economic activity.
Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Sudeep Dalvi, Chief Communication Officer, Senior Vice President, and Head State Affairs, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said: “Through the 34th iCARE initiative, TKM continues to uphold Toyota’s core philosophy of giving back to society by empowering communities through meaningful and sustainable actions. This initiative reflects our belief that true societal transformation begins with empowering the underserved. By supporting rural women micro-entrepreneurs, TKM is fostering inclusive economic opportunities and promoting environmental sustainability—contributing to our vision to Grow India – Sustain India.”
TKM’s employees also applied Toyota’s Kaizen (continuous improvement) principles to enhance SHG productivity and provide technical guidance on process optimization, helping these groups scale operations sustainably and confidently enter broader markets.
Aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, Skill India, and women’s empowerment missions, Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s CSR initiatives continue to strengthen India’s social and economic fabric. The company’s broader CSR strategy focuses on six key pillars: Education, Health & Hygiene, Environment, Skill Development, Road Safety, and Disaster Management.
Through sustained partnerships with local communities and government institutions, TKM reaffirms its vision of creating eco-conscious livelihoods, inclusive growth, and self-reliant communities — driving long-term socio-economic impact across rural India.
